Two-thirds? Wow. Funny how teachers and their union “leadership” never bring up information like this, in between their constant reminders to us that “its all about the kids”. Really? Well, what you’re doing is not working very well, to prepare those kids that you care about so much.
The scores have shown no sign of improvement in recent years despite nearly doubling the cost-per-pupil — and this is after accounting for inflation.
So the state is investing a lot of money in education and getting a lousy return on that investment. And other nearby states have similar scores and spending levels, so this problem appears to be systemic.
This is unsustainable. It’s fundamentally a math problem, not a partisan political issue. But the reactionary Left turns it into a political issue because, in their minds, unions are never wrong.
So: everybody who is advocating on behalf of the unions in Wisconsin is implicitly endorsing bad academic performance at ever-increasing costs. Yet the Governor is supposedly the bad guy.
